The new environmental protection project will be realized in the Bosnian subsidiary of the steel giant ArcelorMittal, i.e. ArcelorMittal Zenica d.o.o. The biggest steelplant of Bosnia I Herzegovina is an integrated steel plant producing approx. 700.000 tpy of steel by means of a Blast furnace and a converter shop, which generates several environmental problems. For that reason, AM has decided to invest in some projects for improving the environmental conditions inside the plants and outside.
CVS has been selected as the supplier on “turnkey” basis of a new dedusting system designed to collect and treat the emissions generated at the cast-house of Blast furnace. Specific CFD simulations will be done to define the most efficient design of the suction hoods inside the cast-house, while a pulse-jet negative type bag filter will perform the cleaning of the emissions collected.
The overall flow-rate of the dedusting system will be of 580.000 m3/h with a filtering surface above 6.500 sqm, while the suction capacity will be guaranteed by a high efficiency centrifugal fan driven by a 1.200 kW AC motor controlled by inverter. The project will be realized in 13 months and the environmental performances expected will be in accordance with the latest EU requirements. In the next future AMZ is planning to continue the investment for environmental protection and new projects will become effective in the next coming months. |
